A 2021 Chevy truck went up in flames between the roundabout and Goodale Construction Company shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday.
No one was hurt when a truck caught fire on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road Saturday morning.
A 2021 Chevy truck went up in flames between the roundabout and Goodale Construction Company shortly before 11 a.m., said Oak Bluffs fire Chief Nelson Wirtz.
The driver of the truck and two passengers made it out of the vehicle unscathed.
It took firefighters 45 minutes to suppress the fire and dam nearby storm drains to prevent fuel and firefighting foam from running off into the sewers.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is not believed to be intentional, said Chief Wirtz.
“Traffic was backed up for a little while… but it all worked like it was supposed to work on our end,” he said.
