The Aquinnah Cultural Center, a museum devoted to the history and culture of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), is among the organizations recognized by MassHumanities through a recently-announced Staffing Recovery grant. The nonprofit will receive an award of $40,000. It is one of three organizations in the Cape and Islands region to receive a grant.

MassHumanities is the commonwealth’s leading funder of humanities programs. On July 10 it announced that 35 organizations from Cape Cod to the Berkshires will receive 2023 Staffing Recovery Grants totaling more than $1.2 million. This amount marks the largest single grant line in the grantmaker’s history.
