Jeep Catches Fire in Oak Bluffs

No one was hurt after a Jeep caught fire on Sea View avenue in Oak Bluffs Sunday.

No one was hurt after a Jeep caught fire on Sea View avenue in Oak Bluffs Sunday.

Firefighters were called to the road after the driver saw smoke coming from the engine compartment of the Wrangler around 5:22 p.m., Oak Bluffs fire deputy chief Stephen Foster said.

The owner pulled the car over into the bike path and when firefighters arrived, it soon went up in flames.

The road and the bike path were shut down as firefighters extinguished the fire.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined, but not considered suspicious, according to Mr. Foster.
