Anna Maria College has announced that Meghan J. Sonia of West Tisbury will represent the class of 2023 as the student speaker at its commencement.

Anna Maria College in Paxton has announced that Meghan J. Sonia of West Tisbury will represent the class of 2023 as the student speaker at its commencement exercises on Monday, May 15.

Ms. Sonia is an Anna Maria College senior who is majoring in nursing. She played on both the field hockey and women’s ice hockey teams during her college years, and was field hockey captain this past year and was ice hockey assistant captain during her sophomore year.

Meghan graduated in the class of 2019 at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, where she was active with social and environmental activism.

Congratulations Meghan, this is the first time a nursing student has been given this honor, that I am aware of, how special. Meghan was also recently inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, the Iota-Phi-at-Large Chapter.
