Sgt. Bradley Cortez has been named 2022 Police Officer of the Year by the West Tisbury police department. This is his second time receiving the honor: he was also named in 2018.

Mr. Cortez joined the West Tisbury police department in 2014 after serving as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He was promoted to sergeant in August 2022. He is a certified field training officer, a member of the Martha’s Vineyard tactical response team and the department’s quartermaster.

The announcement was made by West Tisbury police chief Matthew L. Mincone.
