Loren Ghiglione Earns Hall of Fame Status

Loren Ghiglione of Chilmark was recently inducted into the New England Newspaper Hall of Fame.

Loren Ghiglione of Chilmark was inducted into the New England Newspaper Hall of Fame on Friday, April 29.

Mr. Ghiglione served as the editor and publisher of the Southbridge Evening news from 1969 to 1995, as president of the New England Society of Newspaper Editors, the New England Press Association and the American Society of Newspaper Editors.

He also taught journalism for 21 years at Emory University, the University of Southern California and Northwestern University.

Mr. Ghiglione is the author of nine books and currently writes a column for the Martha’s Vineyard magazine, titled Ghiglione’s Island.
