Volunteers Needed at Lobsterville Beach

Volunteers are needed to plant beach grass shoots at Lobsterville Beach on April 9.

The natural resources department of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) seeks volunteers to help plant 20,000 shoots of beach grass along the dunes of Lobsterville Beach. A volunteer day for this annual group activity is scheduled for Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The effort supports the tribe’s multi-year project to restore and preserve the sand dunes behind Lobsterville Beach. Volunteers will be helping to rebuild a critical and beautiful ecological landmark, and protect a rare and fragile ecosystem.

Pre-registration is required: RSVP by emailing Beckie Finn at [email protected]. Breakfast and beverages provided by Quitsa Cuisine.
