Martha’s Vineyard Magazine has canceled the Best of the Vineyard celebration scheduled for June 4 at Farm Neck Golf Club, but is making plans to announce and congratulate the winners and runners-up virtually.

“We are of course saddened that we have to take this step, but we are busy planning to do some fun things online to make up for not being able to host a party this year,” said editor Paul Schneider.

The results of the popular readers’ choice contest will be published as usual in the July issue of the magazine, Mr. Schneider said. Voting for the 2020 Best of the Vineyard awards ended Saturday.
 
The contest, now in its twenty-fourth year, celebrates the best the Island has to offer, as chosen by readers of Martha’s Vineyard Magazine. This year, more than 70,000 votes were cast in 97 categories, from best burger to best auto repair shop.
