Chappaquiddick residents, beware. Thailand just closed down the island where the movie The Beach staring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed in 1999 because of environmental damage. Kho Phi Phi island was getting 200 boats with 4,000 tourists a day. So residents of Chappy, you may be thinking it can’t happen here — don’t bet on it.
