Betsy Dripps is Hall of Famer

On June 28 Betsy Dripps will be inducted into the Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

On June 28 longtime high school lacrosse coach Betsy Dripps will attend a ceremony at Harvard University inducting her in the Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Ms. Dripps helped found the girls high school program at the regional high school in 1995. She retired in 2015, after 20 years as head coach.

When Coach Dripps founded the Vineyard lacrosse program, only a few other schools in the state played the sport. It began as an intramural team for girls with about 30 kids. Now Vineyard girls and boys lacrosse teams are successful programs with high rates of participation.

Well-deserved and well-earned honor!!! I admire how Betsy, in everything she does, puts so much passion and genuine interest into every person involved. And everyone who has had the privilege of spending even a short time with Betsy is stronger and better. I count myself, a goofy golfer, in that privileged camp.

JoAnn Nettler MV and Vero Beach,

Congratulations to a quiet champion.
I remember going to a fund raiser car wash for your team and through the soap suds on my window I made out
your image. You are a model for all of
us.
