The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 2017-18 Island Book cover art contest. Sixth graders were invited to submit their creations for this year’s theme, Favorite Island Event.

The following artists were chosen as winners:

Madeleine Bengtsson, Oak Bluffs School (Oak Bluffs Tree Lighting); Alana Nevin, Tisbury School (March to the Sea); Henry Redfield, West Tisbury School (Vineyard Events Collage); Jocelyn Baliunas, Oak Bluffs School (Oak Bluffs Fireworks in Ocean Park); Paige Anderson, Edgartown School (Illumination Night); Matti-Lyn Ann Floyd, Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School (Martha’s Vineyard Fishing Derby).

Winners will receive their artwork framed with a copy of the 2017-18 Island Book cover, in addition to having his or her entry appear in the Island Book a telephone directory published by the chamber.
