Vineyard Haven’s Rod Backus took the championship trophy in the first all-Island table tennis tournament on Saturday, Oct. 29. In the finals he beat Juri Luncar in three straight matches, 11-7, 12-10, 11-7.

Semi-final winners were Alina Wen of Edgartown and Eddie Parker of Vineyard Haven.

The tournement was sponsored by the MV Table Tennis Club and held at The Barn, Bowl & Bistro in Oak Bluffs.
