Why is not recycling mandatory on the Island? The Vineyard is most susceptible to climate change and thus would directly benefit from efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Why does not the Steamship Authority not notify visitors at the time of booking about delays and rerouting due to the Oak Bluffs fireworks and the Falmouth Road Race?

Okay, I’ve done enough work for this morning, time to grab my book and head to the hammock.

I have often wondered about this. There is a lot of talking about the island environment and no comprehensive recycling plan.

Leaving it up to the individual is not a plan. My refuse collecter will take bottles and cans for $20 per pickup. That is not a plan.
