Emma Riemer of Vineyard Haven has been awarded a $5,000 Coast Guard Foundation Scholarship.

Ms. Riemer is the daughter of BMCS Robert Riemer and Kara Riemer. She will attend Boston College in the fall.

The Coast Guard Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of Coast Guard members and their families. In 2016 the foundation awarded 128 new scholarships, a record number. Scholarships benefit the children of enlisted men and women who have served in the Coast Guard.
