The West Tisbury selectmen’s meeting has been moved to the Howes House today to accommodate what is expected to be a large attendance.
Selectman Cynthia Mitchell confirmed the change Wednesday morning. The regular meeting begins at 4:30 p.m.
Mrs. Mitchell said two town residents have asked to be put on the agenda to discuss the recent news that the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival plans to buy a residential property off Old County Road and convert it to a home for the nonprofit festival.
The film festival announced its plans late last week. A story published on the Gazette website has sparked a furious flood of online comments, nearly all of them opposing the idea of creating a campus for the film center in the heart of the town historic district.
