Finding Art in Island's Forlorn Buildings

<p>The Martha&rsquo;s Vineyard Playhouse will host a reception for photographer Max Skj&ouml;ldebrand on Saturday, April 30.</p>

The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse will host an artist’s reception for photographer Max Skjöldebrand on Saturday, April 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. Mr. Skjöldebrand’s photography exhibit, Distant Voices, will be on display at the playhouse art space from April 29 through May 26.

The show will feature black and white photographs of forlorn buildings on Martha’s Vineyard.

Mr. Skjöldebrand is an architect who has been taking photographs for most of his adult life. He recently photographed the restoration of the Strand and Capawock theatres.

Gallery hours are 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Fridays, or by chance or appointment.
