Ms. Tilton, a senior at the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School, has been working with the Vineyard Conservation Society to create a plastic bag bylaw for Island towns. The proposal, which would ban stores from distributing bags thinner than four millimeters, will be up for discussion at spring town meetings in five Island towns.

The photography series is inspired by plastic bags. “There are so many bags on beaches, in trees, and along roadsides that many of us have stopped noticing them,” Ms. Tilton said in a press release. “I created this series to draw our attention back to these plastic bas. The first step to change is awareness.”

I am working on California's plastic bag ban. How can I get in touch with Astrid Tilton to view more of the photos?

Thank you.
