<p>Jacob Ferry of West Tisbury announced this week that he is running for state representative for the district covering Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.</p>

Jacob Ferry of West Tisbury announced this week that he is a state representative candidate for the district covering Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties and will run as an Independent. Rep. Timothy Madden, a Democrat from Nantucket, recently announced that he would not be seeking re-election.

Mr. Ferry is a native of Martha’s Vineyard, and interned for Representative Madden before becoming chief of staff for state Rep. Shawn Dooley, a Republican from Norfolk.
