Sail Martha’s Vineyard begins its winter dinner and lecture series on Wednesday, Jan. 13, with featured speaker Nat Benjamin.

Sail MV Lecture Series Sail Martha’s Vineyard begins its winter dinner and lecture series on Wednesday, Jan. 13, with featured speaker Nat Benjamin of the Gannon and Benjamin Marine Railway. The event begins at 6 p.m. and is held at the Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven.

Mr. Benjamin will discuss his 2015 voyage to the island of Île-à-Vache off Haiti to deliver supplies to an orphanage there. Mr. Benjamin sailed there on the 50-foot wooden schooner, Charlotte, which he built on the Vineyard. He will also talk about the work he and his wife Pam continue to do at the Île-à-Vache orphanage.
