With wind and rain in the forecast for Wednesday’s national holiday, Veterans Day remembrances on the Vineyard are being changed accordingly.

Dukes County Veterans Agent Jo Ann Murphy said Tuesday that the parade and outdoor ceremony in Oak Bluffs scheduled for Wednesday morning have been canceled. Instead, there will be a ceremony indoors at 10:45 a.m. at the VFW on Towanticut avenue in Oak Bluffs.

A 1:30 p.m. ceremony at Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will continue as planned.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Vineyard from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, with the potential for wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour. Rain is also in the forecast.
