A storm predicted for Wednesday could disrupt Thanksgiving travel plans to and from the Vineyard.

The Steamship Authority said Tuesday morning that based on the current forecast, they anticipate ferry service disruptions Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A northeaster is expected to bring snow to parts of New England. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for Cape Cod and the Islands from 2 p.m. Wednesday until 3 a.m. Thursday. The strongest winds are predicted from 4 p.m. through 11 p.m. Wednesday.

In anticipation of disrupted service, the Steamship Authority added extra service for Martha’s Vineyard starting at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
