Twenty-three musicians from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School attended an open rehearsal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall on Thursday, Nov. 13. Performing arts department director Janis Wightman reported that the program included Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, Tchaikovsky’s Overture to Hamlet and a trumpet concerto whose composer sat a few seats away from the high school group. After having lunch on Huntington avenue, the students and their four chaperones returned to the Island after enjoying an amazing musical experience, Ms. Wightman said.
