The first dedication of the War Veterans Memorial Park took place 50 years ago in Vineyard Haven. To commemorate the anniversary, the veterans at American Legion Post 257 have organized a parade to the park on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14.

The first dedication of the War Veterans Memorial Park took place 50 years ago in Vineyard Haven. To commemorate the anniversary, the veterans at American Legion Post 257 have organized a parade to the park on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, beginning at 11 a.m. from St. Augustine’s Church. The 45-member Northeast Navy Marching Band from Newport, R.I., will play patriotic songs at the rededication and will entertain that evening at 7 p.m. at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs.
