The national holiday will be celebrated on the Vineyard today with a parade and picnic. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the American Legional Hall in Tisbury, and ends at the Oak Grove Cemetery, with its colorful avenue of flags. The Tisbury town picnic begins at noon at the overlook at Lake Tashmoo. The picnic is an Islandwide event.
