News Update: Sunday, September 18 - Young Anglers Brave the Breeze

<p> As many as 200 young anglers and their parents braved a stiff northeast breeze to fish the Kids Derby, held Sunday morning at the Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority wharf. </p> <p> A lot of scup were brought in by the youngsters. </p> <p> Many of the fish were under the state minimum size, so the anglers were quick to have them measured, noted and then quickly thrown back into the water alive. The largest fish caught in the contest was a 21 &frac14; inch striped bass, caught by Chelsea Bouchard, 7, of Marston Mills. </p>
